A little about me: I don't feel like I fit in. I grew up in a smaller town in PA, just north of Philadelphia, and loved it. I have an amazing group of friends and am extremely familiar with my environment. I have a pretty average family. I'm very close to my nuclear family and mom's side; we all live within a 10 mile radius. I went to college at RIT in Rochester, New York and then transfered to University of Nebraska - Lincoln. Post graduation, I moved back in with my parents and then back to Lincoln. In August, when I went back to NE, my brother moved to Tucson, AZ. At the beginning of December I decided to move to New York. If all of the world is in New York why would I want to go anywhere else?
On December 19th, I arrived in New York, wide eyed and ignorant. The city is HUGE. Luckily, I have a lot of friends spread across the boroughs, so I'll be squatting with them when I return.
My birthday was the 24th, so I'm at my parents house in PA until Jan 2nd, when I will return to Brooklyn.
The move was stressful, and not having a place to call my own is even more stressful, but I think the end result will be worth it.
I travel often and think that this blog is a good way for me to remember where I go and where I've been in my process to find where I belong. I'm definitely not ready to settle down, and I'm still not sure where home is, but I think I'll figure it out soon enough.
